Objectives

The project called Intelligent Hybrid Vehicle for Individual Transportation of People with Reduced Mobility (WHEEL-EE) looks for the acquiring of a classic electrical scooter (equipped with DC motors and battery lead) designed for people with reduced mobility, and retrofitting it with:

- a new motorization, with improved efficiency, by using multi-phase machine (which will increased the scooter autonomy);

- a new control strategy that allows an optimal management of energy between various devices in the system: load (electric motor), supplying source (battery and ultracapacitors - hence the hybrid nature of application), and static converters (which mediates the electrical power exchange between source and load), thus obtaining an increased autonomy of hybrid scooter;

- a new intelligent control and positioning/remote monitoring system (for patient comfort and quality improvement of health services, if the scooter is used in hospitals). In this sense, are presented and explained the WHEEL-EE project objectives:
